I was at my grandson's swim lesson last night and I saw an amazing analogy regarding trust.
Elijah does not know how to swim yet, but he wants to learn. As he and the teacher get into the pool, the teacher gives him instructions on what he is to do and shows him how to do it; holding his breath, the different kicks and strokes, the things he needs to do to stay afloat. He is a bit afraid as he looks at the distance across the pool to where she is to help him swim. The teacher says to him, "focus, focus on me. Trust me, I will not let you go. Don't be afraid."
Those words sounded very familiar to me. It seems those are the very words God speaks to us as we walk with Him through life. He asks us to keep our focus on Him, to trust in Him and have faith in Him and do not be afraid. Each day with God, is a new, fresh day, a wonderful opportunity to trust and believe in God as we step out in service to Him; to bring His light and love to all whom we meet. All we need do is "Focus, focus on God, trust in Him" and all will be ok.
Mark 5:36
"Fear is useless. what is needed is trust."
Mark 9: 23
"Everything is possible to one who trusts."
