The Dark Before the Dawn
You know the days gone by
the time has come
change inevitable
as in the past
to watch the line of life move on
and grow in all its ways
not knowing where it will end.
Through each stage
to trace it back
to where it began
to see all that was done
in one handful
that was once one's life.
In a moment I was ready
to surrender all I was
to answer the ultimate wish.
As each moment
went on
the wish and I seemed to crumble
right before me
as the pieces of stained glass
falling to the ground
until now
I am trapped in a web
I have created in my momentary weakness.
What caused such a change?
Experiences gone through
or someone?
Nothing is the same
between you and I.
Is it me
or is it you?
What has happened?
And yet,
I can't give up
Don't ask me to.
Was our existence
only in my mind
or is it your mind that keeps changing
with each breath?
I don't think it bothers you
as it does me
maybe you don't even know
How could you know?
when all my darkest feelings
are locked inside
for fear of what a revelation
from me
might reveal from you.
Yet you are there
you are always there
In my mind
In my heart.
